It was really nice to read Michael's memory. I too, have so many joyous and fun memories of family gatherings as a kid. I remember the four brothers (as grown men, mind you), either playing an unending game of scoy or having a snowball fight in the street on Nevada St. when we were suppose to be leaving. All of them were cracking up. The brothers and family had a lot of love, music, laughter, and fun as Michael says. I feel fortunate to have those times in my upbringing. Uncle Jerry was always so sweet to me. Like his mother, he had such a big heart and was so genuine. I will miss you Uncle Jerry. My heart-felt condolences to Eric and Jill.

My Uncle Jerry always greeted me with a hearty hello saying my name in a way that only meant love. He was someone that I looked up to for musical inspiration as he played guitar and sang. His voice was always as if he were the back up singer to his favorite band at that time The Eagles. He would belt out “Take it Easy” so that is all you would want to do. Relax and take it easy. It’s all going to be alright. I used to watch my uncles and my dad play “Scoy”. It is a derivative of score and your cheek was the hockey net. Everyone would play scoy to get the last slap in before leaving a family gathering. It got carried away most of the time. The final scoy would have the winner running to the car to preserve the “gotcha last” aspect of this silly game. But that is the Delano’s. Fun always. Seek the joy. I will miss you Jerry. You are now at peace.
