Hyde, Barbara (nee Cowan)
Of Lakeview, NY, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023 surrounded by her family she was 97. The widow of George H. Hyde Sr., she lived a long life, as a parent, corporate wife and benefactor supporting Roswell Park and Hospice Buffalo, Inc. She attended the Buffalo School of Practices, the Buffalo Seminary, and Bradford Junior College and was a worldwide traveler. Barbara was also an accomplished hostess for numerous corporate functions as well as local charities. She was well known as a great hostess to her many friends. In addition to her late husband of 67 years, she was the loving mother of Edward, George Jr., the late Wendy Andres and Kathryn Knowlton Hyde. Sister of the late Margaret Walter. Loving grandmother of Charles L. Banta, Haley and Peter Andres, Grace Hyde Walker, John Alexander Hyde, and Edward Hyde IV. Great grandmother of Pablo Hyde. Also survived by her niece Carla Walter Clark. Services are private. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to Hospice Buffalo, Inc., SPCA of WNY or the Ten Lives Club.
